How To: Survive Your Best Friends Graduating

School is out! Woo hoo! Sun, sand, movies, friends and late nights. Unless your friends are graduating. And then leaving the state. We all have those friends who are older than us and we just feel a connection with them that we don't feel with people our age. Graduation was today and I didn't attend because to be honest, I couldn't handle it. I couldn't handle the fact that my best friends in the entire world would be walking across a stage, signaling the end to their high school career. I so wish that I could have been up there with them, but the world is not a wish granting factory. So, I have compiled a list of things to help you, and myself, get through it.

 1. Belt sad music loudly. No matter what your family says.
2. Suck it up and watch them walk.
3. Go to their grad party. Chances are they will have food.
4. Drink tea. Seriously, it helps.
5. Get them sentimental gifts.
6. Write said friend(s) a letter.
7. FaceTime. Everyday if needed.
8. Watch movies or favorite past times before they leave.
9. Curl up in a ball.
10. Try not to cry.
11. Cry your eyes out. And yourself to sleep. And fall over while doing yoga realizing you will not have another choir class with them.

It's depressing, trust me I know. But soon you too will be a senior and be leaving people behind as well. Eat some ice cream, it will be okay eventually. Sorry to be depressing. But I do believe I have been changed for the better, I have been changed for good.

The Disneybounding Basics

source
Yo! So I just got back from Disneyland, and I wanted to post about something that is near and dear to my heart. Disneybounding. Now, you're probably asking yourself: What is 'disneybounding'? According to this Disney blog post (X) based on the creator of the Disneybound Idea, Leslie Kay, it has this as a definition: "[Disneybounding] has become popularly used as a verb, meaning to go to create and dress in an outfit inspired heavily by a Disney character, film theme, or attraction.

A Letter From a Survivor.

This post was intended to be apart of McKenna's previous post, but because technology hates me it shall be separate. My fellow slave-ians, This has been a trying experience for us all. I have learned quite a few things with this process, and I shall list them here. 1. There is not enough time in the day. 2. Some people I have ZERO patience for. 3. Stage crew cannot be trusted. 4. If you don't do your homework, it doesn't affect your grade immensely. 5. No sleep is better than 2 hours of it. I could go on for days about things we learned, but nah. We laughed, we cried, we yelled at daft people who miss scene changes. I know not all of us enjoyed this experience, but you have to appreciate the beauty in the thing we did. This is the last year that you will be with me, and it is going by way too fast. I know you have to leave me, and even if you could stay I'm not sure I'd want you to. Don't take that the wrong way, but there is so much more for you two outside of Reno. And Brooke, I am so excited to enjoy the next two years of mezzo and ensemble and musicals. As glad as I am that you are running into life at full speed ahead, I can't help but be upset because HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME. This post was meant to be light and funny, but look what you've turned it into dang it. I love you and hope you march through life triumphantly. I am so grateful for our little infiniti. Letters from the Nubian Camp

So hopefully now that we have finished Aida we will have more time to do...just about anything that wasn't getting done because we were at rehearsal. I know that I'm going to start some hard core cleaning so that I don't have so much 'stuff' (aka crap) to move.
With this being my senior, and therefore final, musical I just wanted to leave a little letter here for you guys.

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

I don't want to become one of those bloggers that is just "be yourself," "be happy," and stuffs. But here I am making another post. Once again you can blame my mother for this one. She is getting her hair colored as I type this and she was wondering if she was sassy, and young enough to pull off the ginger she's going for. So I started thinking about it and here we go with another, what I'm going to call, 'hippie post.'

20 Ways to Be: Happy

Original photo (here)

I know I can hear the snickers already. Don't laugh but after a talk with my mom the other day she said that I didn't seem happy lately-especially this year- for whatever reason, so I'm trying to be happier and see the silver lining in everything. So, based on personal experiences-both good and not so good-I am making a list of things that help me be happier in life.

Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story

I was going through my email yesterday and there was this ad that said something along the lines of "EXCLUSIVE DISNEY LOVE STORY JUST IN TIME FOR VALENTINES DAY! Pillow Talk

Sup peeps!!!
I know, I know, you guys have missed me (even though I was with Kristi all day Friday and Saturday, saw Brooke yesterday, and have been messaging Hannah all weekend. Then saw you all today. Oh well, its been a few hours and I'm sure the longing has become too much). So since we didn't have rehearsal today I decided to do what I do best-look for cool things on the internet! I was scrolling through my tumblr dash and I came across these photos and more with the same cool designs:

So naturally I clicked on the link (HERE) that was provided. I love pillows so I posted a picture of those here. But through the link you can order this print on mugs, tank tops, shirts, onesies for babies, iPhone cases, art to hang up, etc! Other than these prints there are some other really cool ones I think you guys should check them out!

-M

P.S. If anyone wants to donate $20 to the Regional Bank of McKenna's Pocket that would be much appreciated (that's how much one pillow is without shipping).

P.P.S Check out our awesome new header!!! I have made it transparent made it so the middle is less distracting while trying to read our blog name.

A Capella Academy Audition!

Hello fellow people of the universe! Just yesterday, as I was scrolling through my twitter feed (https://twitter.com/hannahbanana8980),I came upon a delightful discovery. I had stumbled upon a tweet reminding people to submit their auditions and applications for A Cappella Academy before February 1st. What is A Cappella Academy you ask? It is a nine day camp full of a cappella music and training in Los Angles. And get this, it's hosted by Pentatonix! I immediately researched it to find out about this said audition and application process. Turns out, it was simple! Or so I thought at the time. A simple video audition can't be that hard right? So, you have to pick two different songs that show off your voice. Then sing some scales, tell them why you want to be apart of the program, and whoi-la! You're done. At the time I had no idea that it would take 7 DIFFERENT TIMES TO SHOOT IT. It was a pain, to say the least. The lighting was wrong, I stuttered, my face looked weird. Finally I got the perfect shot. An hour of editing later, I uploaded it to YouTube. Then proceeded to freak out since I couldn't find it. Turns out, it can take up to two days for your video on YouTube to be searchable and watchable. I'm really excited to see what they think. They can only take 60 people, and I hope to be apart of it. Results come out March 1st. Wish me luck! Much love, Hannah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi5eUAEgS_Q Here is the link in case you wanted to watch it. :)

Life as a skier

Hey,
So... its been awhile since my last post so i though i would update you all on my ski trip that was amazing. I was able to go skiing at both Vail and the Canyons i have been told that Vail is the second largest in the country and Canyons is the fourth largest. It was lots of fun. I got  to ski two days at both resorts and so I didn't get to ski everything, but I got to see the main idea of the resorts. Personally I liked Vail a lot better so if you ever have to choose between the two resorts to ski at I would recommend Vail it has a lot more variety. I had a ton of fun hanging there with my awesome family and one of my favorite aunts Dorthy.

Here is a pic from the canyons

Her Last Surprise

Yes, that pun was intended (in case you didn't get it the last episode is called 'His Last Vow'). There was a clue on tumblr to watch until after the credits, but I haven't watched this episode yet so I don't know if it has it yet. If it doesn't I will use my homeless network to find the last part because I love you guys. SO without further ado click HERE and then in the matrix below download click 'continue as free user.' There may be a lot of popup windows, but just exit out of them. Then click 'click to play.' There you go and leave me alone so I can watch it and die.

P.S. See you all tomorrow at school!!!!

San Diego, breakable glass, and over dramatic parents

Hello Kenna, Kristi, and people of the internet! I apologize I'm advance for this crazy long post, but a lot has been happening the past couple days.
Yes my friends, that is a pregnant and sleepy koala bear. One of the many that I happened to see this weekend. Along with adorable Koalas, I got to experience the joy of seeing a baby giraffe and a baby oragatan! Talk about a cuteness overload. The San Diego Zoo was pretty dang amazing. The animals actually roamed and some came up to the glass, including this tiger who would not stop for a good photo.
Sorry my finger is in the way. It is quite a nice finger. (: The pandas were pretty amazing, although I had a flashback to Disney when we had to wait 45 minutes to see them. The polar bears were fun, the giraffes adorable, the elephants were pretty dang cool. It's amazing how a creature can be so big. I saw the most beautiful jaguar, an amazing feat of nature.
As it happens, tragedy struck just before we entered this magical kingdom of nature. My father, as some of you may know, is a micro-brew fanatic. Meaning he likes beer, a lot. He had purchased a "growler" ( a big glass jug of beer) the day before, and had placed it haphazardly in the back of our car. Just as we were exiting the vehicle, a glorious crack sounded from the growler. We opened the door, and a great waterfall of beer flowed from bowels of our car. It was pretty spectacular. Not.
Anyways, a few statuses changed, I went swimming in flipping January, and sat in the car in only a way that a cheerleader could. Can I just say, parents are way over dramatic when it comes to relationships. Get over yourselves. And boys think women are confusing?? Holy crap they should take a look at themselves. That is a subject for another time.

Tidy ho my good friends! I will talk to you I'm the very near future, that happens to be next Sunday.
